The Complete Book of Self-Sufficiency by John Seymour has always being a favourite of mine.

Can read it for free here;
http://www.rivendellvillage.org/The_Com ... ciency.pdf

I read that pdf a few years ago, then bought the hard copy the other month.
It's a really good book in which he covers everything from growing fields of weat to tanning rabit skins.

It's my birthday next week and I asked wifey for that exact Self-Sufficiency book for my birthday.

She promptly went into the conservatory and brought a copy in off the book case. She had it before we got married and it had been sitting there for nearly 15 years. (we have a hell of a lot of books and most of hers are girly ones).

That was one of the cheapest birthday pressies she will ever get me.

Be lucky

This book is being reviewed in Smallholding magazine over the next few issues, to see if it is still relevant today.
