Not to be out done I did it in 2 minutes one handed as I was filming it to put on YouTube to prove it was possible
Hyundai i10. The entire light housing has to be unscrewed. I said to the bloke 'that looks really complicated' as he was trying to get the correct bulb out of the housing and he said 'sorry I'm just making it look hard!'

Last weekend it was the "bet you've got a bug out bag!". Didn't rise but did ask where she expected me to take 3 kids . The Moors or the local travel lodge five minutes later followed with

"got anything for insect bites? "

I got out the Lidl branding iron Aka the sanitas thermal bite pen. It does get uncomfortably hot but the heat destroys the protein in the bite stopping the itch a £10 equivalent to this

I'm used to welding / grinding burns so it doesn't raise a flinch off me....

I'm guessing by the total flip out she won't EVER ask me for first aid ever again

Incidentally it seems to work well on warts only given the couple I have a couple of goes I usually resort to a soldering iron

I've never heard of thermal pens! What a good idea. I'll keep an eye out as if I get bitten I swell up and itch like heck. Ended up at the walk in centre once with a bitten leg that swelled twice its size despite being on prescription antihistamines

I've a set of bojo pry bars bit like these mine are old can't see them listed anymore...

Back in about 2005 ISH I lost both headlights in a carpark after I'd been shopping. The car was new and under warranty thinking it was the switch as both headlights had failed I called ford / rac assist.... Rac man arrived ... Both headlight bulbs had blown he has some on the van  but wanted £12 each! fortunately the retail park had a great big Halfords (not the cheapest but cheaper than the rac van). Said to chap what happens if I've got spare bulbs? ... "I can put them in..." Get the other one out I'll be back in 2 minutes came out clutching 2x h7 Bosch bulbs for about a tenner he popped them in no issue and gave him a 4 pack of beer I'd just got from the supermarket as a thanks

I always change bulbs in pairs if one's gone the other isn't going to be far behind. Had that debate about 10 years ago with my mum's friend who had a headlight out ... Get 2 bulbs I'll do them both.... Her husband said no it's just one that's out....

Next night on her rural commute the other one went leaving her with no working head lights and been mugged by the ever willing mobile sales unit.. er I mean recovery firm van
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Thanks for that Andy! :D One of the comments suggested using a bicycle tyre lever and I have a couple of them somewhere. I must have a look at how to do all the other lights - especially the daylight runners, as I had them replaced at my service recently because I couldn't work out for the life of me how they'd come out. I really should remember YouTube more often!

Just got a huge unexpected free delivery from our community fridge. Half tins and half veg. Looks like I’ll be processing the latter into the wee hours!

Donated all the in date tins from my Father's house. Mostly bought by me to tide him over during lockdown.

Having to go through his clothes next,
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Good idea pseud. I've started stocking up on meat - the plastic deli sliced packs. And tins of corned beef and ham etc. I've cleared out all the kitchen gadgets I don't use and now have some space for tins this winter. Useless stuff like the easiyo and the fat fryer just taking up room.

Stocking up as much as possible on basic food supplies, tins, packets jars of. Was annoyed when I went to get several jars of pickled beetroot and discovered it had jumped from 38p to 50p overnight. So before other things go the same way I am using spare funds to stock up and given the state of the supplies in my local supermarket, it seems like another good reason.

In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
