I said to the bloke 'that looks really complicated' as he was trying to get the correct bulb out of the housing and he said 'sorry I'm just making it look hard!'Yorkshire Andy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 8:47 pm What car do you have ? Good few years ago I had someone rubbish that you could change a bulb in 2 minutes on my last car on a owners forum..... Not to be out done I did it in 2 minutes one handed as I was filming it to put on YouTube to prove it was possibleI've never heard of thermal pens! What a good idea. I'll keep an eye out as if I get bitten I swell up and itch like heck. Ended up at the walk in centre once with a bitten leg that swelled twice its size despite being on prescription antihistaminesYorkshire Andy wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 8:47 pm It's funny how friends / family try and judge... Had a family friend round last weekend who always tries to get a rise out of me... Last weekend it was the "bet you've got a bug out bag!". Didn't rise but did ask where she expected me to take 3 kids . The Moors or the local travel lodge five minutes later followed with
"got anything for insect bites? "
I got out the Lidl branding iron Aka the sanitas thermal bite pen. It does get uncomfortably hot but the heat destroys the protein in the bite stopping the itch a £10 equivalent to this

Back in about 2005 ISH I lost both headlights in a carpark after I'd been shopping. The car was new and under warranty thinking it was the switch as both headlights had failed I called ford / rac assist.... Rac man arrived ... Both headlight bulbs had blown he has some on the van but wanted £12 each! fortunately the retail park had a great big Halfords (not the cheapest but cheaper than the rac van). Said to chap what happens if I've got spare bulbs? ... "I can put them in..." Get the other one out I'll be back in 2 minutes came out clutching 2x h7 Bosch bulbs for about a tenner he popped them in no issue and gave him a 4 pack of beer I'd just got from the supermarket as a thanks
I always change bulbs in pairs if one's gone the other isn't going to be far behind. Had that debate about 10 years ago with my mum's friend who had a headlight out ... Get 2 bulbs I'll do them both.... Her husband said no it's just one that's out....
Next night on her rural commute the other one went leaving her with no working head lights and been mugged by the ever willing mobile sales unit.. er I mean recovery firm van
