What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
The E240 meets his bigger Brother (E1000) who just arrived today.
Not shown are the two additional 100w solar panels.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

That is useful kit.

I make probiotic yogurt because the tablets are so expensive. I crushed about half a dozen probiotic tablets and added a spoonful of inulin to give it something to feed on, then mixed it to a slurry with some milk. After that I made yogurt in the normal way using the crushed tablets as the starter. The first batch wasn’t for eating but to make a lot of starters for future batches and would have tasted odd anyway as the probiotics were strawberry flavoured. So I froze most of it in ice cube trays and made a second batch from what was left which had no trace of strawberry flavour.
It makes lovely creamy yogurt and I have successfully daisy chained it about 20 times, so my initial batch will last for ages as I only need two ice cubes worth when I do need a new starter. Ido find it works best with full fat milk and I even add a little cream if I’ve got any left after Sunday lunch. I also strain it for a short while as DH likes Greek yogurt. Strain it for longer and stir in a bit of salt and you’ve got the best cream cheese ever!

I'm no electrician, it scares me. So a plug and play system that is interchangeable seemed the logical way to go.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Interesting, cheers.
I don't have a stockpile of insulin, but apart from that, a youtube search of probiotic yogurt has given me some good clues.
Looks like those probiotic capsules have a wider range of bacteria.
I'm going to have a try, first from one shop bought organic yogurt. But if I see any of those probiotic capsules at holland & barratt or Boots, I'll give that a try too.
While I'm in a fermenting mood, I think I'll have a go at yogurt starter, sourdough starter, brewing yeast starter and a wine yeast starter, then freeze the bloomin lot in ziplocks.

Inulin not insulin! Lol! Potato starch apparently works as well but inulin was cheaper at Holland and Barrett
Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
LOL. Never heard of inulin. Sorry.
Good job i'm not a diuretic
:p
