A year's worth of food

Here's the excel formula for a disturbing little spreadsheet I call my Starvation Calender. (every time I try to post it to a board it goes strange. It's designed to tell you how many days your hard saved food preps will last if people turn up at your door expecting you to look after them.

Sorry about the format but it'll only take a couple of mins to type in. I've left alternate cells empty because I like to put in coloured lines between boxes.



At Cell B6 type in Adults in group

At Cell D6 type in Food Preps Stored in Days

At Cell F6 type in Additional Adults

At Cell H6 type in Mouths to Feed

At Cell J6 type in Food Now Lasts Days

Now the fun bit.

In Cell B8 put in the number of Adults your actually prepping for
In Cell D8 put in the number of days food you have stored.
In Cell F8 put in the number of extra adults who turn up with no food of their own.
In Cell H8 enter this formula =SUM(B8+F8)
In Cell J8 enter this un =SUM(B8*D8/H8)

As you fill in the boxes the Mouths to Feed and Food Now Lasts sections complete themselves.

That's it. Have fun (or sleepless nights)

And the price of many food items is now shooting up. Buy as much as you can now to hedge inflation. I popped to the local Sainsbury's to get some macaroni - gone up from 70p to 99p!

either that or the price stays the same but the size gets smaller. So for a family you need more.
I think putting your money into food is the best thing to do at the mo.

Unfortunately, where I live, the word Keckle is heard more often than I would like.

By the way, if anyone does not know what a Keckle is, it is not to be confused with a "Bockle of pop" which is made of plastic and most definately not made of "Meckle".

When I talk to these people I can actually feel my IQ dropping.

PMSL!!!! I know EXACTLY what you mean there!! I dont consider myself perfect in any way, shape or form but as an educated man, a practical person and a believer in speaking and writing English (he says whilst starting with an abbreviation), around some people especially youngsters who shuffle and grunt, you can actually feel your IQ lowering itself!! I also start to stare in disbelief at how people think its cool!!

Is it an age thing??!!
