had a tex message this morning off a mate to say she had left bags of horse manure by the gate to her field,so a quick run out in the van to pick it up and put it in the two latest raised beds ready for next year

I got my panels from renogy, https://uk.renogy.com/

but most of cabling and accessories from https://www.photonicuniverse.com/

I jerry rigged them to recharged my Jackery E1000 so I can leave that set up out when it rains as the solar panels provided by Jackery aren't waterproof.

I am sorely tempted by Ecoflows complete system but would need a lottery win:

Well my old power box project is no more :o

I've not got the space to sit it anywhere at home it's been sat at my dad's as a table to stand his beer fridge on but not getting used sooooooo

I've stripped it down it's now going to form a bit of a power wall...

Found a bit of MDF it had a few holes in it but I've added some of my own ... It's off at the back of my work bench with the batteries in the cupboard below out of the way and harder to pinch if it's screwed to the wall
Screenshot_20220808-194847.png

Managed to get the bulk of the heavy wiring done .. need a Henley block to join the negative wires then I'll sort the smaller wiring for the solar / mains charger/ 12v output to run the shed and CCTV

Got most of the bits just need time

Bit of a run down

a new duel battery solar charger which isn't affected by an alternator / mains charger with a remote graphic display to improve on solar input it was shoving out 8amp the other morning...

20a mains charger for rapid recharge and a 20a charge controller / splitter (not pictured)

1000w pure sine wave inverter

Amber light to come on when the inverter comes on / is energised

Will add a outside socket to the shed once sorted so I can run a cable to the house in the event of a power cut and run stuff from the extent lead and keep the shed secure

I'll have a useable 1200 wh

Just seen the jump in price for leisure batteries

Glad I got some new ones last year they've gone up £70 per battery on trade!

are they the £38 one's?

Yep the Tapo ones - work well, with obvious issues if Wi-Fi or power goes down. I believe these can be hardlined into a recorder - but no idea how yet

I'm back from holiday - still alive, though I've woken up today with a sore throat which I'm hoping is just dehydration, but is actually telling me it's not. We'll see. 60 declared cases of covid and flu on the ship, though I don't know if that was just the passengers or the crew as well.

One interesting thing about growing perennials came up: angelica grows wild in Iceland - it's edible, but it looks nothing like the food plants we grow, so it'd be a good "disguise" plant for the front garden http://www.iceland-nh.net/plants/data/A ... elica.html especially for northern members.

I looked at EcoFlo as one of the few potential suppliers of a resilliance kit for the home. If I recall correctly, it was or is a Kickstarter business and I noted that much of their product line was 'Not currently available'
Looks like a decent solution for the keen DIYer. But like any proprietary system, if one product goes bad and out of stock, you could end up stymied.
