All you gardeners be aware: there’s likely to be a frost up and down the UK tonight. Watch your young plants guys.

We’ve had frost most morning all last week up here.Forecast down to -3 tonight.All my plants are tucked away.Don’t normally plant anything till at least May here.

We have the fire roaring up the chimney- lovely and warm!
Paraffin heater is on in the greenhouse.Plants are fleeced too.

Thanks. Damn! Will my spuds and pea and bean seeds be ok in the ground? They haven't sprouted yet? Is it only things that sprouted that are in danger?*
Do I have to bring my tomatoes in from the plastic mini greenhouse, or will that protect them enough?
* I'm guessing my onions and Triffid onions will tough it out without any cover? The Triffid onions are starting to flourish and get a growth spurt

Bloody inch of snow in aberdeenshire last night! I think my seedlings are dead. Oh well. I was chancing my arm putting them in early unprotected. Will resow when cold snap is over.

I think I should have warned that Scotland is under the risk of frosts until August!

1° here last night S Manc/Chesh. Think it was slightly colder night before. Hopefully back to normal from now on, ie 7-9 minimums. Meanwhile Spain has been approaching 40°, a record for April.
