I make my own baked beans, partly for that reason, and also pasta sauce for same reason. The other reason with baked beans is to cut oxalates. The beans usually used are very high. I use butter beans.

Chemical ingredients are everywhere. Although I'm not Vegan, I've noticed that many such foods are full of additives. Even "healthy" gluten and wheat free baked foods can have many additives.
As stated above, it's best to cook from basic vegetables and other real foods. The flavourings, such as salad cream, that I use have additives, but hopefully it's a small proportion of my whole diet.
I'll look into a baked beans recipe, with a suitable home - made tomato sauce, if it's not too complicated.

It is boring to cook if you live alone
However, I initially started cooking from BBC Good foods recipes impressing my family. Then, because I don’t like going to supermarket daily for missing ingredients, I signed up for Gousto. Then I bought myself absolutely ridiculously expensive Japanese Masamoto KS Gyuto knife and started cooking weekly simply because I want to use the knife
And, I sometimes pour myself my own homemade ale when I cook, put something on a laptop to make noise and relaxing making a dinner (though, yes, drinking often is not good)
