Well hopefully it rains as I’ve promised the wife a full 8 inches tonight.

It should keep her happy.

No measurable rain here for weeks but we've been promised some at the weekend. Meanwhile, Mr A has sorted out the water butts and they are all connected in series. He said he was just waiting for me to empty them which I did and now the poor plants are having to put up with chloriney house water.
Discovered a bag of bread flour in the "wrong" place in the pantry but luckily it is still just in date so the bread maker is coming out in the morning.

Full your watering cans as soon as you've emptied them, the chlorine will evaporate...sublime...... Whatever the right word is.. by the next time you want to water.
Or if you need several fillings, fill a butt for tomorrow

She was disappointed that she never even got an inch. Her garden remains dry.

And being serious for a moment, it’s just started to rain in Edinburgh!

Poured down here last night. Fair bit forecast over the next few days. There has been some flooding near Heaton Park, on the M60 slip road.

It rained last night. Not a huge amount but enough to start filling the butts.

It rained last night. Not a huge amount but enough to start filling the butts. I don't need to fill and leave my watering cans at present then. Thanks for the info Forge.
