So what is star link??
A rich Americans satalites based internet connection using a load of low orbit satalites that orbit the globe beaming down the Intterweb to those who have the magic dish...
Costs start at a few pence under £6 a month for standby use this gives low speed internet 100 mbs is £35 a month for a fixed location you can get mobile use and it begins getting pricey

Before buying you can download their app from play store or the apple equivalent then use the tools to see if your intended location is suitable...
So if it's happy it should work
Next you can get the whole set up via them and get tied into a contract or as I did ordered a mini dish from Curries which is £179 at the moment
In the box you get a dish with a fold out "stand" for ground siting and a pole clamp bracket.. a AC power supply and a long 15m ISH DC jack to DC jack cable ...
Don't bin the box you'll need the kit code on the label (serial number)
Use the app to select service you want it's all on the app viewable pre purchase to peruse ....
The set up tells you what to do and when starting with alignment then plan selection then payment details... Set up a personal WiFi access password and your on line
Point dish the way it tells you the bracket angles it fine on flat ground...
I used a sky dish J bracket on the shed for now nice and secure
I'm amazed ISH that I can get WiFi on my allotment 55m away it's almost clear line of sight .... In the house front way upstairs signal gets a bit weak I've added a generic WiFi repeater to solve that issue ... I've actually added 2 of them that gives me nearly full strength signal all over the house ..
But shtf it'll be starlinks own inbuilt only to minimise power use .. that's my next set of tests
To be continued....

So what's the pros
Dependence from the local grid and telecoms.. power cuts / storms knocking down the phone lines I've still got Comms via voip (WiFi calls via mobile phone) and the likes of WhatsApp / messenger and I can still get on line... Even if the local area has say a major blackout and the fiber / exchange /.mobile transmitters go down
..
Probably Sunday I'll get my power stations out and have a play with the alternative power supplies I know they are power hungry but it's another option and been semi portable the cars close enough for the unit to think it's at home if I lay the dish on the car roof and plug into the fag lighter
The units got a snow mode if it detects snow or Ice forming on the dish it's got its own inbuilt deicing mode
