Needed to check on the status of my old 100Ah AGM batteries. I'd swapped them out of my solar rig for a LiFePo4 single 280Ah from Eco-Worthy. They had just been sitting in the shed over winter without a top up charge, so was thinking that they could do with a boost from the charger. Pleasantly surprised to find both sitting at 12.65V, which according to my chart means they are at around 90% SOC.

Did give me a prod though to get in with wiring up the second system that they will be used in.

ooo very nice, I didn't have room for one that big so an Esse 100 had to do:

That looks very cosy indeed. We have 2 logburners in our current home. One was given to us by a relative to replace an open fire basket and we are yet to identify it. The other was from Screwfix, not the best quality, but a bit of a beast giving out 12kw of heat. When we move, we need to get things right, none of this making do until we can afford something better, as we have done previously, because we will be retired by then. I can and have cooked on the Screwfix one, but want something with an oven in case of power outages, so multi use and is the only thing I really have on my wishlist and at approx £6k it will remain so.
Growing old disgracefully!

Medusa I'd love a stove more than anything, either wood or coal burning. I miss it so much and find cooking very stressy here in this all-electric flat. The air fryer/induction hobs/microwave and gadgets like a soup maker are just a pain in the ass and I'd gladly swap the lot for a lovely stove.

I am currently re-bagging. (No thats not a euphemism... ;) )
I had a rucksack that I used to carry everywhere but mainly for work - could get my laptop in it. Also have a small "man bag" that is my day to day carry. Now that I no longer need the laptop bag, I'm trying to work out what needs to go in what for different scenarios. Rummaging around in the roof (been doing a lot of that lately) found an old camelback that looks like it could be a useful daysack.

So, basics in the man-bag - mini first aid kit, battery pack, spare glasses, ear buds, assorted cables and adaptors, small canvas bag that can fold down into a small space, airtag knock-off.

Camelback - can take the man-bag, plus bigger first aid kit, another battery pack, space for water bottle, SAK, folding 10W solar panel. Basically, all the stuff I might need if we have a day out walking.

Still a work in progress...

Decorator here, and I'm down to one N95 mask plus surgicals. Got some N99s coming tomorrow on Amazon. He won't be sanding today anyway.

Took the headboard off the upstairs front bedroom bed, ready to move it downstairs when front living room is finished. This is mainly to make space for the decorator. But if I ever want another lodger, downstairs would probably be better anyway. I can then have the front bedroom for exercise, and use the wardrobe for some of my preps.

Had to use my head torch last night. It kept going dim after a minute. I had the front bedroom light on, but couldn't see a screw head clearly. Went on GPT after, to figure it out. Apparently some Black Diamonds have a Turbo mode, max, but only for a minute, to protect LED and battery. The dim it goes to is surprisingly effetive at distance in the dark. There is a separate bright white light for close up, using the button to the side. We discussed other functions, so I learned quite a bit, and will probably go back to learn some more. There is a tap feature. This is a Black Diamond Storm 375. Uses 4 x AAA which I charged last October, so I didn't think it was the batteries.

If your buying n95 /n99 masks your likely getting cheap Chinese knock offs as those standards don't exist in Europe..

Get looking for bs/ en149 . FFP2 and the best FFP3
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Added another 12 bistro stove cartridges to stock £20 for 12 so £1.66 each for butane propane mix (works better in cold weather)

Checked out AA/AAA battery stocks, we have some Varta, some Energizer, and just a few Duracell.

Varta and Energizer were fine, the Duracell well within date, were starting to corrode so got rid of them.

Will check the batteries in EDC and vehicle kit.
