Managed to grab a 2 year fix on EDF. Although it's a fix, it's coming down on 1 April in line with government price reduction.

Rates are

Electricity
29.458p per kWh
Standing Charge
47.626p per day

Gas
6.968p per kWh
Standing Charge
29.222p per day

Main government reduction on 1 April is about 14% off electricity kWh, so the fix should reduce similarly. Standing is exactly the same as Ofgem for North West, for gas and electricity.

Ofgen prices are expected to increase in July.

Just found that Renogy are selling their 100AH LifePo battery on Fleabay on offer. Combined with the Ebay spring 15% off it comes in at £136 instead of the usual £199.
So that is my old AGM upgraded to LifePo for the solar revamp.

Where's a good source of dried veg? I wouldn't mind trying some retail dried veg. Would probably go well with Broth Mix from Home Bargain ( 90p/500g ) or similar from Tesco or ASDA

My preps this week......
Commenced a 3 day first Aid Course.
Sourced some super cheap BIG ~600W Solar Panels, fingers crossed they work out.
Graceful Degradation! Prepping's objective summed up in two words. Turning Disaster into Mild Inconvenience by the power of fore-thought

Don't get the huge one, the stuff lasts forever and you dont need tons of it.

I bought that mix a few years ago but the family refused to eat it in any form until I powdered it and used it as a stock powder supplement.

Do report back on how you get on with it and if you have any good ideas for using it other than as stock powder.

(Of course it may just be that my lot are fussy wotsits.)

GB I use it as the base for soup. Just add in whatever else I have handy, then nuke the lot.

Thanks. Looks fair value but not very green. I see it includes potato, which I never had much luck with.

Stocked the freezer with beef and lamb joints from Tesco. From £7 a kilo.
They had a five item limit on joints.

Jeez. The price of petrol and diesel even as t Tesco!
