I've been slowly adding to my at home health checks.

Next im adding a lung capacity & flow test to check monthly along with blood pressure.
Just had full bloods done and bowel checks.

Want to add grip strength next as thats linked to longevity.

If you don't already have an oximeter I would recommend adding one which can link to a smartphone for continuous monitoring/reporting. Not just useful for covid but can also help monitor sleep apnoea and anything else heart/lung related which would result in poor oxygen levels.

Am trying a free calorie counting app for now, Chronometer. Still using Calorie Counter as well, til it expires. Will see how I go. Wasn't quite ready to lurch into the unknown and not track calories. Obviously there's a slight learning curve, but I've added all today's nosh, and it's within 60 calories of CC, which isn't bad for the amount of time I spent. I probably used slightly different weights or methods. I had to click to get rid of the paid bit twice, but I believe you can use it free indefinitely.

I use CC as a meal planner, and that serves to guide my shopping list.

Did laundry and a bit of light gardening. Lovely sunny blue sky and light breeze.

Forget calorie counting, eat what like just use a smaller plate.

I'll testify to that. It just works even though it shouldn't. I Tried all sorts to lose weight and the MOST successful way was a two part strategy....
Eat as much fruit and green veg as I wanted to without restriction, 24/7.
Eat main meals off an 8 inch plate. Side plate if the meal was on bread.

I did not restrict what I ate, just how much. Having to fit it on a small plate made choosing quality over quantity second nature.

There was stupidity like eating doughnuts and drinking wine, but I still lost weight, probably because of the restricted volume of carbs and pies.
If you want evidence that the opposite is true, go and spectate at a Toby Carvery and watch the biggest people with the biggest portions. It's not coincidence.

Preparing veg beds ready for plant next month (we're still getting frosts up here) and quietly adding an extra bit of long-term food in the weekly shop.

Managed to fit a 10 inch pizza on a 8 inch plate. Only a slight overhang. :D

the best free calorie & macro app i've found is myfitnesspal. Its free to use, i've used it for years for counting macros and its very rare to find a product barcode not on its system

I did see that in the article I found Chronometer in, so I might give MFP a try today. I'd like to keep using CC, just don't really want to fork out £40. CC is better for salt, but I am comparing a paid app to a free version.
