That blasted bindweed looks to be firing up new shoots at a stupid rate and is growing up and out by about 6 inches a day from the roots I failed to extract. I'm thinking that next week, I'll spot glyphosphate the new growth in an attempt to destroy some roots. Risky as It'll encourage growth.
The technique I have seen suggested is to bundle the bindweed into a plastic bag along with some half strength glyphosate. The logic is that as it doesn't kill the leaves as quickly, the glyphosate has time to travel deep into the roots and kill them too.

I need to get my act together in the back garden. I have lesser bindweed in there which is just as much of a pain and should really try this trick on it.

Just spent another couple of hours bindweed excavating. I'm rid of most of the top growth, but I dug under the nice tiny new shoots to find each attached to half a metre of rope like tangled roots. Dug out a good trugfull of root and surely left as much there.
There was a plank laid between my raspberry and strawberry patch, so i lifted it and forked around. It was Bindweed Root City, with a monster root system. the top growth kept popping out all innocent looking from under the edge. No longer!"" I'm going to lift and remove all those planks. and dig out what's lurking.

As to the bag it and poison it. I'm game to try that, but it demands almost as much foliage as root system for it to work. Glyphosate depends on the plant going growth crazy and burning itself out.

In other news, harvested enough spuds for dinner, but some b45t4rd critters ate my second strawberry :(

I'm fixed for the next year or so...... So I'm hoping the prices might start coming down before then.

My Fraud-band provider isn't going to offer a phone-over-fibre so I'm going to see if I can shave any more money off what they want for my fairly slow BB..... I'm sure theres a company out there looking to undercut everyone else.

Just completed my 1st aid re-cert. Because it had lapsed I couldn't just do the one day, but the Red Cross now offer a two-day "Speedrun" version of the full course for folks like me..... Its amazing what you remember, its also as amazing what you've forgot.

On a related note, I didn't know you can get limited access to someone's smartphone (I've not had one all that long).
On the Unlock screen the "Emergency" button opens a page that can have your ICE numbers, medical alerts and other necessary info.... You just need to fill it in

Also, I wasn't aware that if you make a "999" call you can dial "55" to tell the operator that you need help but are unable to speak.
This covers both covert calls and things like choking, obstructed airways, etc

Getting the runaround with my fast acting insulin, none available anywhere... have to wait until tomorrow to speak to prescription department to change to a different type.

In the short time on the stuff I have built up a small spare supply so not unduly worried, but goes to show how quickly supply and demand can easily be buggered up.

I wouldn't be surprised if the replacement insulin gets a run on it as well

I took out a 2 year fix just before the start of April. Fixes were going down despite being 'fixed'. I am paying fractionally above April's unit rates.
