What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13

The Opal plum tree is is full fruit so I am making lots of plum jam since we all like it. Not much point putting up pie filling as we rarely use it. The cherry plums up the park last year are a wipe out - I think they overdid it last year. The garden toms & courgettes are just coming online while the beans are still sulking after the heatwave which has clearly cooked a number of baby beans that are doing nothing at all.
I think the next week or so will be all about jam making - and maybe foraging some blackberries.

Did a session of shredding. Now have a large box full of shredded paper. I think the portable AC came in it.

Speaking of which, hopefully won't need the AC today, as got the house pretty cool, but might need tomorrow.

The two ex lodgers rooms are handy for the shredding and the AC hose/kit/dust sheets. The actual AC is still in my room.

Went for a lung screening yesterday. I told her I used to deal with asbestos string, but she decided it didn't count, so I didn't need CT scan. I was tempted to push it, but didn't. So I am rated low risk, or low to moderate.

Had to go by bus, as the trams were down. Impressed that the buses were both on time to the minute, despite going down a main road and no trams running this week. And I used tap and go for probably my first time in Manchester. I've only been charged £2 so far.

Considering
a) France seems to be due for more extreme heat, and last time they came close to having to shut a couple of reactors down
b) our dependance on electricity imports
c) the resent disclosure that NESO have been less that open with the state of the grid

I'm charging all my battery banks back up, once the sun is out.

Buying a few things on Ebay (like silver.... Theres some great deals out there if you've got a good testing regime), selling much more though.
Also having a massive clear out and taking stuff to the local auction house..... Space for preps plus cash for preps.

Car MOT done, serviced last month.... Might need a new tyre next month (one is close to 1.6)

Found a new bank to pay me to switch my sacrificial account to, £175 free money

Jackery solar panel connectors, extension cables and 3x200watt collapsible solar panels on their way.

After making an error in not getting proprietary panels I have four redundant panels taking up space

After 1 year, I revisited this mistake I thought I'd made

Turns out I was wrong, I blame the brain fog .

Just connected 2 of the panels and we have power.

Ground mounted and not the best angles for optimum sunlight but 350 w into a 99% charged powerbank is not to be sniffed at

so you don't need proprietary panels and peripheral kit with a Jackery?
