Well...not to be indelicate, but I can tell you from personal experience when you get the flu, you can't really get out of bed. So at the first sign of it, load a box or table at your bedside/couch with soft drinks (though I recommend avoiding caffiene, flu can already strain the heart) and maybe some fruity bars, snack bars, that kinda thing, though you probably won't feel like eating much. Meds too, either paractamol and cough syrup or an all in one flu remedy. Plenty tissues, wet wipes, but....
when I had flu it was a real struggle to leave bed and go to the loo. I really recommend a small porta potti, or other type of 'instant' loo, because when I did go I fainted halfway there!
Sorry, I know it all sounds daft but real flu (as apposed to a virus or bad cold) really has you tied to bed for about a week or fortnight. That includes loo breaks
