Dont you believe it .. we have solid wooden doors and the little B******** gnaw through the bottom corners to get through if they have a reason. Otherwise it sounds good .

Skips
I appreciate that it should be obvious NOW but a metal base plate screwed onto the 1st 12" of the bottom section of door should deter them.

A few years back my brother owned a small bakery and attached shop, a couple of doors down there was a Indian take away that was shut down due to lack of hygiene, the result was the whole terraced row had a rat problem, enviromental health noticed that the wooden door jams had signs of being chewed, [the doors to the bakery and to the rear of the shop where metal] he told my brother to grind glass into a powder and then mix it with wood filler and refill the chewed wood, the glass rips up the insides of the rodent.
He had to refill the wood jams a couple of times but the problem was resolved pretty quickly.
He also mixed ground glass with brick mortar and filled in any small holes in the lower brick work

I use brick outbuildings. Fine.
Regarding rodents, keep permanent bait points down, check regularly and keep all foods sealed.
