just an idea
Re: just an idea
I do actual agree with you all in hine sight it wasn't a grate idea lol I just fell a bit isolated in my area as I dont drive and want to learn as much as possible but your right about keeping a low profile iv got a few close friends that have been asking me about my preps and now agree that failure to preper is preparation to fail and are now much more interested in quietly gettin there s**t together as they all can see whats going on I'm just going to keep my head down and do what i can thanks everyone
im prepering for the worst because i hope for the best
Re: just an idea
Love this thread.
Omgshtf, can I ask you, though, what you mean when you say friends have been asking you about your preps? That sounds tricky from the point of view of Opsec ... you might want to think about some disinformation, if you mean what I think you mean.
Sorry you feel isolated - but over time, you'll find people on here who are closer to you geographically than you might think. Plus as far as learning stuff, there's a lot of local organisations you can join that aren't prepper-focussed, but have really valuable skill bases for preppers to join - things like amateur or ham radio, fitness, shooting clubs, bushcraft, orienteering, fishing, all sorts of stuff. Hope this helps.

Re: just an idea
It might be worth while instead, joining other groups in your local area, bush-craft and the like and then working out where people come from and then just make friends.
M main concern about these doomsday shows is that they might make everyone think that "doomsday" and "preppers" are somehow the same thing, words that go together. i call myself a prepper at times, but i don't have to think about an end of the world scenario to know that the people who are surviving the floods have reserves of tins of food and condensed milk in store.

And I just found out that you're only 15, from the other recent thread you started. You know, you'll have seen a lot on here about building community - it takes skill to do that, i.e. practice! Its really important to get out there and live your life, to have a life worth living, so to speak. You take care of yourself. Which includes having some fun.

Re: just an idea
It was my natural instinct to keep quite about prepping, although i advise my dad to keep a well stocked cupboard , which he does. i like the fact this site emphasizes the technical aspects of prepping. Though we consider different possible scenarios and causes if you rant and rave too much , be political, religious etc , you will gently be nudged back on topic.... looking forward to uk preppers though

Omgshtf, I just found out I confused myself (and Hobo, sorry Hobo) about who you were and what you'd posted, and consequently how old you are ... doh! My bad. Apologies. Ignore my post above this one.

I'm from an old Guiding family with four generations of Guiders.
We never stayed quiet about "Be Prepared".
Not even through two World Wars.
As far as I know only the Germans attacked them...along with the Italians and the Japanese.
Our people just developed a barter system and became very good at gardening.
