its a surprise how many smoke alarms simply do not work. Dead batteries, or just bollards, excuse the French, ok spell checker corrected me,lol.
Takes two minutes to press your tester button to see if they work. Press hold a few seconds and it will bleep loudly then let go. Done
If youre getting an annoying short intermittent BEEP every few mins or so it means the battery is duff, replaced it don't remove it they cost about 2 quid for a new one.
Regular checks can and will help to save lives, you, your family all for a couple of quid.
If youre a prepper then prepare your home against smoke and fire.
Got gas fires, boiler ? Install a carbon monoxide detect in each room where you have gas appliances.
7 out of 10 smoke alarms I have tested have noor flat batteries. If you're in any doubts get a new one or two and install them on the ceiling on you're emergency evacuation routes, hall wall, stairs, landing.
Just a reminder as a lady round the corner died recently because of non alive smoke alarms, just think she could still be alive if they had batteries in them.
Remember smoke can kill before fire
