Road kill

Post by Oldarborman »

I don't know if this subject has been talked about yet I just want to tell you how I deal with it, for the last 40yrs at least I have been eating road kill and the latter years I have seen a vast increase in animal deaths, if you are a meat eater your food will at some point require a kill so to take advantage of this bounty, I have never yet been ill through this as I follow a simple few rules,
1 use your nose
2 use your touch
3 use your eyes
4 after cooking taste
In theory just use the tools you where given your senses !!!!!!
In my freezer I have rabbit, venison, pigeon, duck and pheasant,
All I am doing is utilising what has recently happened all this meat remember is totally organic and lived a lovely life free ranging and feeding on natural food if you bought this in a shop it would cost a fortune, plus hunting which I do is not always ending in a meal so all I can say is use road kill it its free.

We don't see much around these parts, and going looking for it would cost more in fuel than walking to Aldo, Lidl, Tesco or Sainsburys and buying fresh would ;) but it's a sound idea and I bet there are some good spots for it.
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

Ain't nowt wrong with FRESH roadkill. The route I cycle everday is littered with dead game. You have to know it is fresh kill. Cut out the bad bits, you got good grub.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.
