Great food storage reference..

Post by DundeePrepper »

Simple to understand and links to factual sources where appropriate.

Found the White Rice quote interesting.. Oxygen free storage is 30years!! (Proven)

Indefinite for syrups and as we all know forever with Honey but its a good reference for longterm storage.

Also has an interesting ingredient Substitution list..
eg: You need to substitute an egg in a recipe you can use 1/2 a Banana +Plus 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder (mashed together)

Not sure how well this will work if you want an omelet though :?

Beacon, banana and baking soda sandwich doesn't get the mouth watering, but some of the other stuff is really interesting.

Yea, I knew you could keep flour and lentils etc for a good length of time but didn't realise it was quite that long or that it had been 'proven' safe..
