Re: vacuum packing
Hi,
I use the "Andrew James Pro Quality Vacuum Food Sealer With Canisters" it can handle rolls as well as bags which is very useful for packing small items and don't want to waste an entire bag. As long as you keep the seals clean it is very reliable.

Re: Tinned Margarine
Hi,
Ordered some today, I will let you know what it is like. I have to say the German tinned cheese is very nice, even better when you add some to Tesco value cheese macaroni.

Re: 24 Hour British Ration Packs (£100 for 19!!)
Hi guys, read this thread with great interest and have to agree that it appears that £100 for 19 x 24 Hour ration packs is a great deal. However, I want to add a different angle if I may please: I work for the company that currently holds the supply contract to the UK Armed Forces for their Operati...

Re: Home Made Ration Packs - Vacuum Sealed
Hello, I do a mix of both, I have the Andrew James sealer. I have found you need to be careful of manufacturer packaging that may contain air, I buy a lot of Tesco Value biscuits and take them out of the packaging then vacuum pack. The oldest I currently have is 18 months and they are perfectly fine...

Re: Mountain house long life food! Ripoff? Or good price?
Hi, Not a ripoff, MH do a sample pack for £49 this includes about 10 pouches and is a great way to see if you like the taste. I have a couple of the 3 month kits hey do, I think of them as an insurance policy as I don't have to worry about them for 20 years. Try the pouches but add 5 minutes to all ...

Re: Nbc suit question
The suit has a black charcoal lining to help against penetration of chemical agents. If the suit gets to water logged the protection becomes degraded. As the other members have stated the suit is just part of an overall system: Suit - jacket and trousers Gloves - inner and outer Overboots rubber Res...
