i doubt the type of sugar would effect yeast , could be old yeast or the temp. brewing isn't my thing , but i do make bread , sometimes i use honey in the place of sugar , yeast isn't really fussy , the sugar is just a food source for yeast i prefer cane sugar over all and try to avoid beet sugar , ...
