Jackery solar panel connectors, extension cables and 3x200watt collapsible solar panels on their way.

After making an error in not getting proprietary panels I have four redundant panels taking up space

After 1 year, I revisited this mistake I thought I'd made

Turns out I was wrong, I blame the brain fog .

Just connected 2 of the panels and we have power.

Ground mounted and not the best angles for optimum sunlight but 350 w into a 99% charged powerbank is not to be sniffed at

so you don't need proprietary panels and peripheral kit with a Jackery?

No Itsy, as long as the panels are within Jackery's specs and you get the correct adaptor.

I have 2 x 100w panels powering my 1000w powerstation and 2 x 413w panels for my 12 KWh one.

Did a test runs to see how long it takes to recharge my Aferiy to 90% from 50%, looking for anything that gets warm etc. Also did some experiments recharging stuff from the ecoworthy without the panels connected. Want to get some idea as to what needs to be charged when and in what order, should we have an outage

During my offline time, I got my hotel/hospital bag set up again, plus checked what else I could evacuate with if I was in the car. The wildfires had me slightly concerned, and there's heathland to the north and south of my town. People have been bringing up evacuation to me off their own bat, not even at my suggestion.

Speaking of the car ... my battery died, I'm a Green Flag member but not for home breakdown. So I got someone to come out the same day, and the battery's common as muck so he had one in the van. £270 for everything, its a lot but the faffing about to get £10 off the battery isn't worth it.

First of the month, but I've got no spending planned. Concentrating on saving. Finally moved a few hundred into a savings account. I've changed the way I do my finances slightly. I used to include the private pensions I get on the 1st of next month. I've stopped doing that now. So it makes my savings for this month look low, but it's a one off.

Spoke to the lung cancer screening on phone about asbestos, and got to go back for a CT scan.

Well that was a hellish week first aid skills tested to a level I never want to again.. got home from work Wednesday to find the wife slumped on the sofa facial droop on one side couldn't raise one arm or squeeze with any power, slurred speech, plus felt drunk (she very rarely drinks) and blurred vision....

Full score of stroke symptoms..... Ambulance took 40 minutes..... Off to the big hospital 25 miles away ct then bloods then MRI... Fortunately no stroke a rare type of migraine (hemiplegic migraine fully mimics stroke symptoms) within 12 hours most symptoms had gone



The new kitchen got a new light fitting installed on looking at the fitting and instructions it is upgradable with a plug and play kit to turn it into a emergency light so £25 parted with and a little box landed on the door step

Literally plug and play one multi plug onto the PCB and a little plug into the back of the mains connections and the led clips into a holder already on the side of the fitting (shows battery/ operation status )

So if the power goes off 3 hours of light not full power but more than enough to see what we are doing / avoid falling over the cat

Swmbo wasn't wanting the solar pendant lamps putting back up they were a tad unsightly

I also managed to score permission to put slim led rechargeable under counter lamps under the top cupboards as they look nice again more stealth power cut more lighting options

Adjusted my bike saddle, and back again! Think I just need to ride shorter and more often til my backside gets conditioned again. Been doing some back exercises as well. Easy one is Bird Dog. Go on all fours, lift right arm and left leg, then swap. I have a mat permanently down in the front bedroom so no excuse not to do a few reps a day.

Tomorrow got mini heatwave, and got to go to Wythenshawe for a CT scan. Last time I went to hospital it was baking hot outside, and I couldn't get mobile signal to get an Uber. Had to use hospital wifi.

Lung screening couldn't process me! Something to do with going twice. Fortunately I still got scanned.

Have changed my default Amazon address to the local Post Office. It's only a 5 minute walk. Not everything can go there, but plenty can. I want to get out on my bike more, and not be staying in because of a delivery. You can't send Sub n Save to a collection point though, so I'll be cancelling most of those, and just ordering when I need them. Saving is pretty small, and prices can go up with little warning, so I was going off it anyway. The whole point of it is to get everything on the same delivery, but I had to stay in two days for two items in the last one.
