We have a set of keys in the front door that whoever is last out of the house grabs on the way out and also keep a set each on our person in case we're not together when we're out.

Stashing a key in a hiding place is insecure, I watched something on the Box a while back that had a former burglar turned Security Advisor list the five commonest places to hide a key.... A straw poll of friends showed that this covered all of their secret hiding places
