What Preps are you doing this week? Part 13

Chimney sweep is booked for the end of the month
All of my food preps have been moved into the new cupboards, well not quite all of them as they are full and and the sugar, flour pasta and rice will need to remain in storage boxes.
Husband is going down to a 4 day week tomorrow so less money coming in and a new budget to work to. He has a tiny pension he started when he was 21 but we could never afford to increase it back then, so this will cover a little of the deficit. It will mean that he has more time to do a few jobs, bit of painting outside, chopping more wood, re-grouting the bathroom etc etc

Had a few hours at the allotment, mostly to try to keep inside the rules, weeding and tidying. Some of the produce has crept out over communal paths, one squash has now crossed a path and invited itself into a neighbours plot by half a metre or so.
Made a modest harvest of Courgettes and Beefsteak and small Tomatoes
Cultivating a friendly relationship with plot neighbours with the site now becoming much more of a community of sharers.
We've had some produce stealing going on, which is bringing site security into focus.

Got some Geer Aid Tenacious Tape instant repair patches delivered. My old similar ones have gone over the approximate 5 years it's best to give these sort of things. I ordered a pack 19, but they sent six packs! So one is in the BOB repair kit and the rest in the prep room. They are for repairing tents, clothing etc.

Ordered some new alcohol wipes. Only £3.75. I have alc-free in FAK, but alc ones are useful for the tape, also removing marker pen from waterproof maps. Also any other glueing prep, eg superglue. I won't stick to expiry date, I think 5 years is ok. Main thing is not dried out.

Got mobile bike mechanic coming Tuesday. Apparently he works in his van. Carries the bike to it. Makes sense actually, as he has all his tools in it, and presumably a stand. Easier for me as well.
