As people have said its better to make one to suit your needs, I think there are a few basics that are needed in every bag, those being:
I'd also supplement that with:
- Sleeping bag
Sleeping mat
USB memory stick with copies of important documents on.
Money
First aid kit
Cheap Nokia phone with crank or AA powered charger, programmed with all your important numbers
I'd also supplement that with:
- bivi bag
Food
Water
Torch
- Firesteel and tinder
Knife
lighter
chafing fuel tin
Small cooking pot or tin
Candle
Radio
Cordage (550 Paracord)
Tarp
Compass and map of the area
- Two way radios
Satellite Navigation
Firearms
Brass wire

Hi metatron
That is a good list, but would 2 way radios be a good idea, can others listen in, lets say if they had their own set?
Really good, straight forward list.
Thanks

Re: buying ready made bug out bags
Before i went down this road, i looked at my EDC, beefed that up, then the BOB follows on from there.
Since getting up the woods and taking everything, i have forund just how little you really need, i know its not all about bugging out to the woods, but it helps put yourself in a situation without major services, so you have to deal with what you have (and i like it up the woods).
So you may find as i did, that everything ive always taken up the lake when on a fishing weekend works and the bag i always have when we go on holiday for down the beach so we dont have to spend loads of money on teas and coffees also is a must, i was surprised just how "ready" i already was.
The EDC/BOB/GHB viewforum.php?f=42 threads are a wealth of knowledge, i also bought a book that has alot of info, but as most others have said, its what you and yours need, it shouldn't be about ruffing it either, its supposed to make you stay comfortable.

If you use the phase "man up" you have alot to learn.
