OFFER: Empty butane canisters - S. Devon

Good morning,

I've noticed that these empty gas canisters are being sold on Amazon etc., for refilling purposes. Not something that I intend to do, so if anyone is in the south Devon area and can make use of a dozen or so of them, please contact me.

Cheers,

Andrew

Re: Looking for some advice please on night vision equipment

I don't know anything about them, so I asked someone who does and uses them. Hope the following is of help. With night vision it all depends on how far the owner wishes to see – the further the more expensive. Gen 1 are the cheapest and really not worth bothering with. Gen 2 are better and gen 2+ ev...

Re: Equipment shopping

I bought some kit from them earlier in the year. There was a problem with the order (my fault entirely!) which they resolved quickly over the phone. My experience of dealing with them was very positive (good quality products, cheap and the problem resolved quickly). That said, I was initially weary ...

The Food Chain - Lost in the Desert (BBC audio)

Well worth a listen. Survival Stories: Lost in the Desert What happens when your food choices are determined by nothing but the environment around you and your own resolve? The Food Chain follows the story of 72- year-old grandmother Ann Rodgers, who went missing in the Arizona wilderness in March 2...

Re: Just Tents

That reminds me.

I ended up buying a Snugpak Ionosphere. Hopefully, I will be able to test it in the next few weeks and report back.

B&M Camping Kit

Not bad for a fiver.

I bought some of their 'enamel' plates and mugs last week, for £1 a piece. Not the best quality in the world, but more than adequate.

Basha

Can anyone recommend a basha, or similar? I'm not fussed if it is new or ex-military, as long as it does the job.

Thank you.

Re: Just Tents

Over to the experts - is this tent as good as the reviews?

I am after something light and Exmoor-proof!

Thanks.

Re: Rucksack

Thanks. I do a lot of walking. Six miles on a work day and an average of 15 on my days off, of which those are over hills and in all weathers. I must write up some 'top tips' for this forum, when I get some spare time, as I have noticed that most advice, from the YouTube prepping community, tends to...

Re: Rucksack

Well, after all that I bought a Lowe 30 litre rucksack. Not the best quality that I saw, but it was on offer (and therefore the cheapest) and most importantly, it is comfortable!

Will give it a test run at the weekend.

Thanks once again for the replies.
