Re: Prepping when ill or infirm
Practical as ever! I loved our woodburner when we installed it but I think we will have to have a rethink in the next year or two. Tightening rules haven't officially affected us yet but we are nervous about lighting the stove before it gets dark in case any neighbour complains. And stacking the log...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 10
I'm replacing most of my wardrobe having lost a lot of weight in the last year. I'm doing it with an eye to longevity since I'm way past the age of wanting to be fashionable. Fast fashion makes it quite hard to acquire what I want at a reasonable price. So I have turned to making a few items which I...

Re: Paying for care, wills etc
POA makes life so much easier for the people you love when it really matters. Solicitors charge a fortune for them compared with wills but that is because they have to do the due diligence to make sure the donor has capacity. They are EASY and relatively cheap to do yourself using the online applica...

My girls' idea of prepping is to have our phone number on speed dial, sigh! They do acknowledge that my prepping has come in useful eg when Covid hit and we had plenty of loo roll. They just seem to think parents will always be here

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
Interesting about Grisport - I actually ordered some of their walking shoes this week! They look very like the Mephisto Trampolins I have worn for the last 20 years and had resoled three times but which are now on their last legs. Mephisto don't make that style any more so I was very pleased when I ...

Re: What Preps are you doing this week? Part 9
Quelle coincidence! I went to the big Chinese supermarket in Croydon today. Bought a big bottle of soy sauce and another of teriyaki. Kikkoman's branded. I agree it's probably not cheaper but It's handy having big bottles. Also bought two big 5l bottles of vinegar for spraying on the weeds on the dr...
